Medical Records Coordinator

We are currently hiring a Medical Records Coordinator for our pharmacy in Norristown. This is a full-time position under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy. The Medical Records Coordinator (MRC) will be responsible for managing all medical records changes, including printing and sending monthly forms, monitoring their return, and contacting physicians for prescription refills. The MRC will also assist the pharmacists with data entry, answering the phone, ordering, and checking cycle medications against current MAR.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR:
- Contact physicians for cycle refills required for facilities using the “refill system” and update prescriptions accordingly/data entry.
- Coordinate with facilities regarding needed refills, problem solving, nursing concerns, medical records updates, etc.
- Print and package all monthly forms (PO, MAR, TAR), as well as additional forms as needed or requested by facilities.
- Track physician order forms going out and coming into the pharmacy.
- Make patient profile changes based on received physician orders; update all medical records.
- Coordinate the filing of current medical records.
- Manage and order all office supplies.
- Assist pharmacists with data entry, answering phones, etc.
- Check cycle medications against current MAR, when needed.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE OF THE MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR:
- Prior pharmacy experience, required.
- Minimum of 21 years of age, required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's license, required.
- Current nursing license by examination from the State of Pennsylvania (i.e., RN or LPN), preferred.
